For miles around, tea estates form a perennially green carpet on the slopping hills. It's the one area (besides the Sundarbans) where it is possible to look around and not see another human being and Tribal villages are the main attractions of Srimangal.
The town itself is quite small. The Dhaka-Sylhet Rd passes from one end to the other, with a four-way intersection in the middle. It has the bare essentials, including several banks, a restaurant or two, some tourist operators and friendly locals.
