Eid-ul-Azah is quite different from Eid-ul-Fitr. This is an occasion of sacrifice. This is the day in memory of the great sacrifice which Prophet Ibrahim (As) was ordered to make. Allah asked him to sacrifice his only son, Ismail. In obedience to the orders of Allah, he took his son to a lonely place and with the covered eyes.
So the Muslim in memory of this great event, sacrifice each year on this day, A got of a cow or a camel.
This sacrifice stands for man's love for Allah, his love for what is beautiful and true life. It stands for his will to live a noble and happy life. It takes place on the 10 th of Zil-jajj. It is also an occasion for joy and merry making. More greetings and embracing's and merry making go on as before.
