Every Nation in the world has some selected days to make pleasure. The Eid is the greatest of all festivals of the Muslims in the world. There are two Eids in a year. These are
Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha.
Eid-ul-Fitr comes after the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the month of fasting. In this month the Muslims fast-during the day. The month of shawal comes at the end of Ramadan, The Muslims perform Eid-ul-Fitr on the first day of Shawal with pomp and grandeur. All the Muslims, both young and old, men and women. The poor and the rich wait eagerly for this day.
They remember with grateful heart the successful fasting for one month in obedience to Allah. On this happy day the people wear their best dresses. They give gifts and oney to the poor people. This money or gifts given in charity is called the Eitr or ‘Fitra'. On this day the muslim get up early in the morning, have their bath and put on their best dresses. They take shimai and other sweet dishes prepared at home. Then they go to the maidan or mosques to offer their Eid prayers to Allah. After the prayer is over, the Muslims embrace one another and exchange greetings. They banish ill-feelings from their mind. They have delicious meals at home and they visit the houses of their friends and relations. The children in their new clothes feel very happy on this day.
No other Occasions as like as this, the Muslims, all over the world, feel so much joy and happiness.
